An evolving person in that tiny head

Actually, Angel’s head is anything but tiny.  (Remember our CT Scan occasioned by his macrocephaly?)  It’s so amazing watching him interacting with us so actively now despite the fact that he is still babbling and not audibly talking yet.  I was scanning previous digital albums for the scrapbook for mom, and it’s so unbelievable that he has grown so much from that almost bald headed baby of not so long ago to this little guy who has his own moods and temper and who can now hug us with both arms.

He is very communicative although not yet verbally.  It seems to me that his comprehension level is even advanced because he can understand more complex instructions for someone his age.  What I find most heartening is that he continues to be very malambing to all of us and I hope to nurture this demonstrativeness of his emotions until he grows older.

I sometimes wonder if we’re not lagging behind but thinking about his growth in those terms means we are comparing him to others.  Each child is unique, I tell myself.  And it’s not like we’re way, way behind.  That’s my boy…

Hamming it up for the camera..

Isn’t technology just wonderful?  Even when I cannot lug my camera around, I have my camera phone to snap away with.  I like taking a continuing series of shots of Angel in the same camera position or distance so that I can see him in action.  Here’s the latest taken early this week.

A Mom at Work

I’m back to work after a day off with Alan yesterday.  We just spent time with the little tyke, did some errands and then went out with friends for a simple dinner last night.  We were home just after 10PM.  Tonight will probably be Angel’s laundry night because Alan hasn’t been able to attend to that just yet.

I have weeded through his crates of toys and am getting ready to put away those that are definitely beyond his age group already, so we can set it aside for giving away.

I really need to start fixing up my attic soon because the living quarters are already all cluttered because of Angel’s toys.  They can benefit greatly from some breathing space from my own clutter.  (I am planning to take a picture of my attic as it is tonight so that I can do that as my “BEFORE picture.)  And I can’t leave things lying around now that Angel is getting very creative about grabbing everything within reach.

Childproofing 101.
