Motherhood comes first

We had to postpone our plans Saturday because Angel had a fever. Blame it on the summer heat and their now every Friday “Sprinkler Day” in daycare. It’s a natural reaction to exposure to the heat, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he will start adjusting to the heat better.

I stayed up until 2am making sure that I saw his fever break by constantly putting a cold towel on his forehead. Before I turned in, his temperature had sunk down to normal. He had insisted on sleeping in Alan’s arms, so there I was watching CSI Miami and WITHOUT A TRACE reruns on CBS while father and son slept. I like watching my boys locked in a tender embrace like that. It makes me love Alan all the more seeing how good a Dad he is to my son.

So today we watched HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX which Angel slept through as expected. Just as we had trained him to behave well even in fine-dining establishments, we’re getting him used to the moviehouse. Although we can leave him with my mother-in-law, we’d like to spend as much of the weekend with our little boy of course.

It’s another week ahead, and I’m looking forward to what will hopefully be a more normal next few days. No big storms and no bursting steam pipes please.

I’ve started reading the seventh Harry Potter book and I have a second book I hope to start reading. I’m trying to read more that’s why I haven’t been blogging as much. Life has just been that hectic.   At the end of the day and when you sum up everything that’s happening around me, Motherhood always takes top priority.
